Oh! The good old hockey game...

Canadian singer/songwriter Kathleen Edwards (Rounder Records) performed a great bilingual version of O Canada last Sunday evening prior to the NHL All-Star game at Philips Arena in Atlanta. The Atlanta Boy Choir followed with a wonderful performance of the U. S. National Anthem. In a thrilling game, the Eastern Conference all-stars defeated their Western Conference counterparts 8-7 on a game-winning goal with 20.9 seconds remaining in the 3rd period by Marc Savard of the Boston Bruins . Eric Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes was named MVP. The 2nd half of the season begins Tuesday. Bring on Lord Stanley and long live the NHL. Regards, Clyde.

I've got to say I know zilch about hockey, but 8-7 seems like a high score for the game and a squeaker for any game. I doubt the Super Bowl will be that exciting, what with the Giants all sick with the flu and New England being New England. But at least there's Tom Petty.
