Localist Hanging It Up

TJ Deeter, the guiding force behind Localist, is retiring the online magazine and blog after five years of covering the local music and art scene. The KABF volunteers are certainly not alone in wishing TJ success in all his future endeavors, and we thank all the people who contributed to the project over the years. One of those contributors, Lindsey Millar, who now covers some of the same territory with Rock Candy, marks the departure here.

Jack Hill writes here about the fate of outdoor music events, especially in regards those held in amphitheaters. Personally, I'd like to see smaller stages in more public places and a relaxed attitude on the part of the cities toward allowing small, local events to be held without all the invasive restrictions that we have nearly everywhere now.
