Sun Ra on Night Air

I just listened to a great send up to the space traveller who was Sun Ra. There is no way you can have Sun Ra explained to you in 25 minutes, but this radio production does a pretty good job scratching the surface. I won't attempt it, but Online Magazine does it here, and the Arkestra keeps the ball rolling fifteen years after his departure from this astral plane.

By the way, the program I refer to is The Night Air. It's a production of ABC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. I love the show and receive it in the form of a weekly podcast, although individual shows are available as streams or mp3 downloads. The show is usually in the form of audio collage, so is very experimental and exercises the listener's imagination. Check it out when you can.

Hi Jay,
Glad you enjoyed our San Ra episode, thanks for your kind words in general. We try to cover the less covered in our weekly podcast, we call it "an audio adventure" Tune in again sometime, Cheerio John
