I have been lax at posting playlists in the past month. I pledge (ha) to get on that this week and post them, late or not. I owe a couple and one from Not Necessarily Nashville. Kudos to ya'll who are very diligent in posting them. I love being able to see what was played.

The "Guys" Are Coming Back To Town

Baghdad sustained "Shock & Awe" in a very bad way. Now it is Little Rock's turn, but in a very good way. Conway's The Rockin' Guys bring their musical version of "Shock & Awe" to the stage of The Whitewater Tavern in Little Rock, Sat., Sept. 29 @ 9:30 PM. This band of performance art miscreants, The Rockin' Guys that is, will surely perform(?) songs from their newest CD, the aptly titled Performance Art Miscreants on Ironic Records. Admission is $10.00 which includes a copy of the boys new CD. So let's all get out for the Rockin' Guys show. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones (Victor Wooten, Futureman & Jeff Coffin) will be in Little Rock this Saturday, playing the Revolution Room at Rumba Revolution in the Rivermarket. If you have never been to Parrot Beach, this would be the time to go! The folks there are wonderful. Vanessa's pizza is to die for (I love the pizza) and the beer is cold.

Parrot Beach is at 9611 MacArthur Drive (old Conway Highway). If you take the Crystal Hill exit on I-40W go right on Crystal Hill. Follow it until it ends and turn left. Go down until you get to Kelly and turn right across the railroad tracks. This puts you at MacArthur. Take a left and go about a mile and Parrot Beach is on the left. OR you could just take MacArthur out of Levy.

SO mark your calendars and dust off your dancing shoes. Come on out and join the KABF folks (Diana, AmyB, Cryin Brian, Larry, Audie, myself and who knows who else??). Donations accepted at the door for KABF. Prizes and drawings throughout the night.

Do check out Dub Qawwali, a posthumous collaboration of recently discovered tracks of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan from the 1960s and '70s arranged over dub tracks composed by London-based producer Gaudi.
